ARTHUR REGINALD WILLETT
1868 -- 1951
 

Born in England, he emigrated to the United States and is known for his mural work throughout the East, Midwest and in the: nation's capital. He is listed in many sources, Benezit, Davenport's, Who was Who in American Art, Mayer, ADEC and others. Auction records: Davenport's, $1250, 1991, 18 inches by 24 inches, watercolor; ADEC lists fifty seven sales, mostly watercolors with prices in the $2,000 range for works of this size and much smaller (4 7/8"X19 3/8", $1,960).

OFFERED

An impeccable little watercolor, 14 inches by 10 inches, of what appears to be an English scene, probably done during the Artist's life in Britain. Perhaps it was brought with him and sold in this country after he emigrated. In original condition, de-acidified and archivally presented its original frame, Victorian era [circa 1900] French Regency Revival with 22 kt. highlights [slight cosmetic restoration].
