We are in the business of transferring Art or as it is said in the trade, " placing" it. The first rule in handling Art is "Do no harm.". This is true whether you are storing it or restoring it, or as we may be, shipping it. For this reason alone we do not encourage anyone to purchase a piece of Art if you feel for any reason you may not want it. We, of course, assume the responsibility that our description of the piece is true and accurate and our picture of it represents it fairly. The exposure to potential damage is greater for Art during transit than at any other time in its life, assuming it is being cared for. It goes without saying that irreplaceable objects should not be shipped anywhere at a whim. Please read our return policy, in our BILL OF SALE under Limited Warranty, carefully. We ask you most of all, to act in the best interests of these objects. As quickly as posssible they should be placed in a climate controlled environment, out of direct sunlight, and moved from that spot as little as possible to insure their preservation. There clean and archivally presented, ready to survive the next century.

Shipping

        It has been our experience that FedEx is the most reliable method of delivery other than a contracted private carrier. FedEx charges are reasonable, however they only insure for $500 in value. We require the purchaser pay for all shipping charges. However, should damage occur (This usually involves onlly the frame.), we will either accept the artwork involved back for restoration (frame) or return (should it involve the Artwork), or supervise restoration in the locality of the purchaser should it be possible and appropriate. In either case, all insurance settlements would go to the party responsible for the cost of such restorations. All works under glass will be shipped without glass. Instructions will be included with each piece regarding its presentation.

BILL OF SALE

        The following is the Bill of Sale and Terms of Condition dated__________________ . This document is the entire Agreement of the Sale and all terms and conditions of the Sale are contained herein. This written Agreement cannot be modified by the Parties except upon said modification being in writing and signed by both the Buyer and Seller.

        The buyer has agreed to purchase the work of Art defined below in accordance with the presentation and information provided on the web. site "Antiqueart.com" with the following conditions and guarantees. Other than as assured by the limited warranty identified as such in this Agreement, the goods in this Bill of Sale are sold as it is, without any representations or warranties by the Seller as to the marketability, fitness for particular purpose, use, or any correctness of description of the physical condition, size, age, quality, rarity, importance, media and, or historical significance.

        For any consideration of the payment of the sum of $___________ by_____________________________, [hereafter referred to as Purchaser]_____________________________ [hereinafter referred to as the Seller ]: has bargained, sold and conveyed the following object of Art:

ARTHUR REGINALD WILLETT
1868 -- 1951

Born in England, he emigrated to the United States and is known for his mural work throughout the East, Midwest and in the: nation's capital. He is listed in many sources, Benezit, Davenport's, Who was Who in American Art, Mayer, ADEC and others. Auction records: Davenport's, $1250, 1991, 18 inches by 24 inches, watercolor; ADEC lists fifty seven sales, mostly watercolors with prices in the $2,000 range for works of this size and much smaller (4 7/8"X19 3/8", $1,960).

OFFERED

An impeccable little watercolor, 14 inches by 10 inches, of what appears to be an English scene, probably done during the Artist's life in Britain. Perhaps it was brought with him and sold in this country after he emigrated. In original condition, de-acidified and archivally presented its original frame, Victorian era [circa 1900] French Regency Revival with 22 kt. highlights [slight cosmetic restoration].

LIMITED WARRANTY

        Seller warrants that the aforementioned and described object of Art is of the size, period, medium, creator and character as identified in the above paragraph.

        Seller warrants at the time of signing this Agreement that Seller has title to the object of Art.

        The Seller does not make any expressed or implied representations or warranty whatsoever concerning the object of Art sold herein except as specifically provided herein as follows:

        The aforestatred limited warranty is limited to the period of five years from the date of sale of this object of Art and limited only to the original purchaser of record. If it is determined to the satisfaction of the Seller that the above warranty description is incorrect the sale will be rescinded provided that a lot is returned to the Seller at the original selling location in the same condition which it was at the time of the sale. A precondition to satisfaction of the Seller that the warranty description is incorrect would be the written opinion of of a member in good standing of the International Society of up Appraisers or the American Society of Appraisers which materially conflicts with the warranty provided herein.

        The benefits of this warranty are not assignable and they only in inure to the benefit or the original purchaser and not to any subsequent owner who has acquired in interest in the Property whether by purchase, assignment, inheritance or by any other cause or reason.

        It is specifically agreed that a rescission of the sale and refund of the original purchase price is the exclusive remedy which is available to the Purchaser. Seller will not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages incurred or claim, including any attorneys fees expended by the Buyer in pursuit of any claim.b

        Title to the goods described herein does not pass to the Purchaser until receipt of good funds by the Seller.

        Purchaser is required to pay for all shipping, insurance and handling charges. The cost of packaging supplies, insurance and shipping charges are added to purchase price. Purchaser may choose to have Seller ship that United Parcel Service Federal Express or private carrier. Shippers will not shipped to a P.O. Box, so Purchaser must provide a street address.

        This Contract and Bill of Sale is to be construed using the laws of the State of Georgia.         Unless exempted by law the Purchaser will be required to pay any state and local sales tax, any applicable compensating use tax of another state and if applicable any federal luxury or other tax on the total purchase price.

        This writing contains the total agreement of the Parties and all agreements entered into prior or contemporaneous with this agreement are void whether oral or in writing.
